This rosé wine has a pale, hazy hue, offering vibrant aromas of strawberry, pomegranate, rose petal, citrus zest, and subtle desert spices, with a floral and saline depth. On the palate, it’s crisp and lively, with bright acidity, gentle funk, and flavors of sour cherry, cranberry, grapefruit, salted melon, and a mineral, saline finish. At 12.5% alcohol, it’s fresh and easy drinking, paired beautifully with cheese platters, summer salads, mezza, vegetarian dishes, or spicy foods.

Description

Ward is a natural rosé wine from Heya Wines in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. Crafted by the woman-led team at Heya. This direct-press wine is 100% Syrah, sourced from organic vines on limestone and red soils at 800m altitude. Named “Ward” which means “rose” in Arabic, the grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed and direct-pressed using a vertical hydraulic press, and ferment spontaneously with native yeasts in neutral oak barrels. Stored in stainless steel tanks, bottled unfiltered, unfined, and with minimal sulfites, it’s a true minimal-intervention wine.
