Mersel Winery

Mersel Winery, operating under the name Mersel Wine, is an innovative Lebanese producer focused on natural wines crafted from organic and indigenous grape varieties, making it a standout in the local market. Founded by Eddie Chami, the winery draws on a collaborative network of local farmers, young winemakers, women-led cellars, and even refugees to revive and celebrate Lebanon’s ancient winemaking heritage.

Located in the high-altitude cool climate regions of Wadi Qannoubine and Maksar Mersel in the Bekaa Valley, the vineyards span elevations from 800 to 2,500 meters, surrounded by cedar and juniper forests where native grapes like Merwah and Marini flourish. This extreme terroir contributes to the unique character of their wines.

The winemaking philosophy at Mersel emphasizes minimal intervention, with organic farming, no additives, no fining, and no filtering—resulting in raw, unfiltered expressions that highlight the land’s natural essence.
