Kanz

$32.00

This red has a bright ruby, slightly hazy hue, offering lively aromas of red plum, cherry, dried flowers, spice, and a funky note. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and juicy, with soft tannins, medium acidity, and flavors of raspberry, blackberry, red fruit, earthy notes, and a chalky mineral finish. At 13% alcohol, it’s a vibrant wine best served chilled, ideal with lamb, charcuterie, grilled meats, or Mediterranean dishes.

Description

Kanz is a natural red wine from Heya Wines in the mountains of Batroun region of Lebanon. This blend features Grenache (60%) and Syrah (40%), sourced from organic vineyards planted on clay-limestone soils. Named “Kanz” meaning “treasure” in Arabic since the grape is like a treasure where fermentation happens within the berry through carbonic maceration and the land is treasured. The grapes are hand-harvested, with whole-cluster carbonic maceration, ambient fermentation with native yeasts and natural malolactic fermentation in amphora, bottled unfiltered, unfined, and with minimal added sulfites.
